Consumer and SME Economy report

In this week’s report, UK spend was up 8% vs 2019, led by further improvements in Transport and Entertainment & Leisure spend. In Germany, spend was flat vs 2019 this week, reflecting the continued improvement seen over the last two weeks as restrictions eased in many regions.

In this week’s report, Germany spend was above 2019 levels for the first time in eight weeks, up 3%, continuing the improved spend trend seen over the last three weeks. UK spend was up 4% vs 2019 levels, in line with the average over the last six weeks.

In this week’s report, UK spend was up 5% vs 2019 levels, in line with the average over the last five weeks. Germany spend has been down single digits vs 2019 (-5% this week) over the last two weeks, which is an improvement on the double digit declines over the prior five weeks.

In this week’s report, four weeks into eased restrictions in the UK, spend was up 24% YoY and up 5% versus 2019. In Germany, as lockdown continues, spend was up 8% YoY this week and down 3% versus 2019 – an improvement on the double digit declines seen over the last five weeks.
